Richard LeLash
Richard Walker LeLash, 69, of Redding died Monday, Oct. 13, at Danbury Hospital.
He was born and raised in Scarsdale, N.Y., in 1945, the son of the late Joseph and Mildred LeLash. After graduating from Philips Exeter Academy in 1963, he attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1967 with a bachelor of science degree in economics and in 1969 with a master’s of business administration degree.
After working in management consulting at Touche Ross & Co. and finance at PepsiCo Inc., Mr. LeLash co-founded Georgetown Consulting Group in Ridgefield in 1979. There he specialized in utility regulation in various states.
An avid golfer, he was a longtime member of Whippoorwill Country Club in Armonk, N.Y. He enjoyed hiking the many trails of Redding with his faithful companion, Snoopy, his family said.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Teresa (Readman) LeLash, and their two children, Marian and Justin LeLash, all of Redding; his brother William LeLash of Eugene, Ore.; his first wife, Gudrun LeLash of Essex, and their sons Derek (Althea) of Sunnyvale, Calif., Christian (Jennifer) of Dallas, Texas, and Curtis (Victoria) of La Crescenta, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Carter, Graham, Ian, and Jackson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, Oct. 17, at 10:15 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ridgefield, with a reception to follow. There will be no calling hours.
