IT-services firm Delaware Consulting has recently opened two new offices globally. The new office in Budapest, Hungary, will serve as the hub for Eastern Europe, while the Kuala Lumpur-based team will support clients in both Malaysia and the wider APAC region.

Founded in 1981, initially as Delaware Computing, Delaware Consulting is a provider of IT solutions and IT consulting services based on the Microsoft, SAP and OpenText technology platforms. The firm currently has more than 1,000 employees in 10 countries, including in Belgium, the Netherlands, the US, China and France.

In recent years the Belgium-headquartered firm has booked strong growth, on the back of growing demand for technology consulting, as well as a successful strategy centered around a focussed and high-quality service portfolio (Microsoft, SAP). Last year Delaware Consulting opened three new offices, in New York, Paris and the Philippines, and for the first time in its history broke through the barrier of 1,000 employees. In the eyes of Peter Oyserman, one of the three co-founders* of Delaware Consulting, the secret to the firm’s success lies in its “unique company culture, the team spirit and mutual respect among colleagues”.

In line with the ambitious growth targets (‘strategic growth plan 2020’), and with last year’s successful expansions still fresh in mind, the company Board of Directors have recently decided to enter into two new markets: Hungary and Malaysia. The new practice in Budapest will be led by Wim Van Eyken, Managing Director, and Adam Jezsoviczky, General Manager. “One of the main reasons for us to start a local entity in Hungary is the presence of one of our main clients, AB Inbev. We will also attract new clients within the region as well,” comments Van Eyken.

The new branch in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, will be led by Christophe Derdeyn. According to the Managing Director the new office will enable Delaware Consulting to offer “better, quicker and more competitive services to our existing and new clients within the region,” adding that the move will strengthen the firm’s local go-to-market capabilities. Delaware Consulting Malaysia will operate in close conjunction with the other APAC offices in Singapore and Manila.
