MIAMI COUNTY — The Miami County Commissioners approved a proposal from the Lakatos Group for consulting services for the Transit Department.
The Lakatos Group has worked with the county in the past to assist with the management of federal and state grant programs, reporting requirements and compliance reviews, as well as staff training.
Transit Department director Regan Snider said that the department will be using the consultant’s services in a smaller capacity this year.
“This is still a service that is necessary for the department,” Snider said.
The cost of their services is $94.25 per hour at an amount not to exceed $15,000. Last year, the department spent $9,000, which was a “big year.” Typically they spend about $6,000 on consulting services, Snider said.
The commissioners also approved the payment for a camera system and GPS installation in four West Central Juvenile Rehabilitation facility vans.
