Rainier Beach business owners brutally beaten, robbed – KOMO News

SEATTLE — Police are looking for the man who brutally beat and robbed two Rainier Beach business owners on Friday night.

The victims, Heng Hay and Chea Pol, owners of King Donuts on Rainier Avenue South, had just closed the business at around 7:30 p.m. when they were attacked, according to police.

Pol was getting into the couple’s car when a man approached her, grabbed her purse and punched her repeatedly in the face, police said. Hay was also attacked before the robber ran away.

Medics treated the couple at the scene before taking them to a local hospital.

The couple’s daughter, Davie Hay, set up a gofundme account to raise money for their treatment.

“Both of my parents were admitted. My mom’s teeth were punched in and my father’s face was beaten badly,” Davie Hay said on the website.

Both victims were released from the hospital Friday night, but Pol returned to the emergency room on Saturday to be evaluated for a possible concussion, according to Hay.

“It was bad. Just shocked that somebody would touch my parents. So, very sad,” said Davie Hay.

Several frequent customers dropped off flower bouquets at the couple’s restaurant Saturday after hearing about what happened to the couple.

“We come a long way with their family and they’re very good people,” said customer who dropped off a large bouquet.

Police are still investigating the crime and have yet to make any arrests.
