ANDOVER TWP. — Inside Accomplitech’s headquarters on Newton Sparta Road, owner Chris Ferrari sat on a leather white chair, surrounded by television and computer screens. The Arduino electronic kits and 3D printer only add to the chic, modern look of the workshop.

“Consulting is probably how I’ll pay the bills for this place,” he said. But make no mistake, Accomplitech offers more than just consulting services.

Having just celebrated its grand opening on Oct. 4, Accomplitech is a new technology service provider to the Sussex County area. While the location is new, the LLC has been existence since roughly 2005.

The 38-year-old Ferrari has been in the IT business for over 15 years, working in the corporate environment and supporting large customers.

“I have pretty good experience,” he said, “and have been working this whole time for a leading technology provider globally.”

But as he approached midlife, Ferrari grew tired of the traveling his work required of him.

“I figured I would try to grow locally and stay local,” he said. “I can work on building roots in Sussex County.”

The business offers a variety of services, from technology repairs and educational workshops to technology development.

“I’m pretty competent across IT,” he said, noting that in his line of work it’s necessary to learn new topics quickly, gain some expertise and be able to disseminate that knowledge to a customer base.

Particularly in the immediate area of the county, where medical offices are dense, Ferrari said he can work with small business owners and their software providers to help expand their network, provide repairs and run practice management software.

“We can be a trusted partner on security aspects, business processes and how technology automates business process,” he said. “We care to the point of being a partner where you can get custom-tailored services.”

As an example of educational workshops the business offers, Ferrari used WordPress, an open source blogging tool, as an example. “There (are) people that are pros at it,” he said. “But there are people who don’t know anything about it.”

Since opening, Ferrari said that several customers have stopped by inquiring about WordPress. A retired individual who is into photography, and wants to learn how to share their pictures online can benefit from such a workshop, he said.

“You leave here with some discussion,” some hands-on experience and literature from the workshop, he said. “People get to go home with something significant.”

“You already got started, and you can come back here for additional assistance,” he added.

Other workshops include 3D printing, intro to maker electronics, videography/photography, green screen and video production.

It doesn’t have to be an intensive class, Ferrari said. “It can be something of an open forum.”

Starting in January, Accomplitech will offer classes on a variety of topics on the first and third Thursday of every month.
